Editing SharePoint pages with IE8 driving you crazy with warning popups?

One thing I noticed right away when editing my SharePoint pages with IE8 was an annoying popup message that showed every time you navigate away from editing a page. “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?”:

Hello,I had installed IE8 but did not had problems navigating page. But I had other problems with IE 8 for example - I could not see my document library in explorer view and could not view custom list in datasheet view. Finally i uninstalled IE8 and continued using IE7.

I wonder if that was a compatibility mode problem. This could specifically happen in master pages like blue band that have a valid doctype and do not have the IE7 render meta tag.
